I went to go post this review and found, to my frustration, that a number of pictures I have taken over the past year of the low waste products I’ve purchased have disappeared. Not cool! I like to try stuff out and really get a feel for them before reviewing them so I tend to have pictures hoarded on my phone for a while. Or, I thought I did! For instance, I purchased my shave kit from The Package Free Shop back in February and made sure to take pictures right when everything arrived (without plastic packaging! Always a plus!!) and when it was all shiny and new. Now, everything is significantly less shiny and new but alas, here I am taking pictures for you. *deep sigh* One day, I’ll get better at this. Until then, please forgive the less than pristine condition of my shaving kit.

It’s August and we are still in this pandemic. Yet, things are (so very slowly) getting a little closer to normal. At least, that’s how I’m feeling as I’m able to (finally!) use my reusable produce bags AND grocery bags at my grocery store. Huzzah for small wins.

I didn’t post anything last week for Meap Prep Monday as I’m trying to get a bit ahead with my meal preps. Normally, I’ll meal prep Sunday or Monday and then post it right away on Monday. That doesn’t give me a lot of time to try out the recipes (though I definitely sample as I cook!) and take pictures. For this post, I’ll share with you what I meal prepped last week. It gave me a little more time to try things out.

Finding toilet paper that ISN’T wrapped in non-recyclable plastic? So, so easy. Get comfy because we are going to talk way more about toilet paper then I’m sure you ever thought you would!

Another week, another meal prep.

Last week, I got the news that I will be officially, 100% furloughed, which isn’t great but unfortunately, not that surprising when you work in travel. When countries are literally banning you from visiting, it makes it a little difficult to maintain your job planning international trips. Please wear a mask so we can get this virus under control and I can get back to work and we can all get back to traveling the world.

Here are my groceries for this week. My co-op has reopened for shoppers (yeah!), though allowing reusable bags for produce is questionable. I may be throwing everything in my cart willy-nilly next week if they don’t allow them!

Lush Company Review

Since moving toward a low-waste lifestyle, I have been trying to shop local and shop small. Lush, unfortunately, does not fit that bill but they are one of the first companies that I fell in love with when I was switching to all-natural products several years back. Throughout the years, they have made continuous strides to lessen the waste that they offer including taking back their packaging for reuse and offering “naked” products like shampoos, conditioners, solid moisturizers and soaps. The real reason I’m featuring them, though, is that they have brick and mortar stores with an incredibly helpful staff. I think when you are starting on a low waste journey, or are looking for products with cleaner ingredients, it can be really intimidating. Instead of scrolling through pages on line, you can talk to real people about what your looking for and get recommendations.

June 8th Meal Prep

It’s been over a month since I posted anything and since then so much has been going on in the world. Last week was particularly heavy, but necessary, with the protests and conversations that George Floyd’s death sparked. I took some time away from posting and sponged up as much of the information as I could. I think the most interesting thing I watched was 13th on Netflix. I highly recommend it.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! This post was supposed to go live on Monday but my blog and I are having a bit of a fight.
