This weekend was definitely the later. As a result, I didn’t get a complete spread of all my prepped meals but the recipes are so good, I had to share anyway!

This month for Product Reviews, I’m going to be focusing on makeup and skincare. I think this was one of the more daunting changes for me. It took me forever to get a make-up routine down that included more natural products. To find natural AND low-waste seemed a lot! So, hopefully this helps you out a little bit when you go to make some changes.

One of the features I want to introduce on Trees and Honeybees is company reviews. One second your closet is nicely organized with pieces you actually wear, the next you have free t-shirts from charities you went to, Kickstarter campaigns you sponsored or gifts someone gave you. And guess what? You never wear them!

Let me start this post by saying I definitely, most certainly, do not identify myself as “a sewer”. I know the basics, I can muddle my way through some simple instructions or pattern but I’m working off my mom’s 30 year old Kenmore and I mess up, a lot!

One of the first changes that everyone talks about when going zero-waste is to switch to a reusable water bottle and I whole heartily agree. When I did my first beach clean up a few years back, I was pretty surprised to see that one of the most common items on the beach was plastic bottle caps. Often, they are too small to go through recycling machines, if they are recycled at all. About 6 billion pounds of plastic bottles get thrown away every year, and only 30% get recycled. YIKES!
